The PISA Mountains provide an unforgettable location. Due to its high altitude, the mountains are covered with a thick layer of snow in winter, making it the perfect choice for white weddings in Central Otago. Or MOUNT ALPHA is a beautiful location overlooking Lake Wanaka, with magnificent views extending into the Southern Alps. When the weather is bad in other locations, this is an excellent choice.

  • Itinerary overview

    Take off from Wanaka Airport, fly over the grassland grazing area, and land at a high altitude in the PISA Mountains. The highest landing point has an altitude of over 6500 feet, and on clear days, one can overlook the beautiful scenery of Dunedin, Asplin Mountains, Southern Alps, and Mount Cook. Or take off from Wanaka Airport, fly over the Krusa River and Wanaka Lake, and land at the top of Mount ALPHA at an altitude of 4000 feet. This location overlooks Lake Wanaka, Wanaka town, and surrounding areas, with the backdrop of the Southern Alps, Wanaka Basin, and Lake Havea.

  1. It is recommended that you book the helicopter as early as possible to avoid missing it. Once you have confirmed your wedding plans, even if you don't have a specific time yet, please let us know so that we can book for you and ensure you don't miss out.
    During your wedding, we can offer a special 10% discount on our flights for your guests (minimum 2 people). Just ask them to mention your name and wedding date when making the reservation.

  4. The pilot has excellent skills, has undergone rigorous training, and is able to understand weather conditions and mountainous environments. Wanaka Helicopter Company takes a cautious approach and will seek alternative options or reschedule your flight if the weather appears unsuitable for flight and there are safety concerns. The decision to fly or not lies with the captain, and their professional opinion on this issue is final.
