FAQ about the project
Q: Does mineral-rich hot spring water have an impact on jewelry?
A: Mineral-rich water may stain some silver and gold jewelry. Please take off these precious jewelry before entering the hot spring pool. If your jewelry has been in contact with the water and has become dirty, you can clean it yourself or take it to a jewelry store for cleaning.
Q: What is the white substance in the pool?
A: There are some active mineral elements in the hot spring water. When the water cools, these minerals will quietly change and stick together, becoming visible to the naked eye. Whether it is white particles in the water or milky white water, it is because of this reason. When the temperature drops, the clarity of mineral water will change with changes in atmospheric conditions and mineral solid suspensions.
Q: What physical health conditions should be paid attention to when taking a hot spring or hydrotherapy in a hot spring pool?
A: If you are allergic to sulfur, we strongly recommend that you do not bathe in the hot spring, otherwise you may have skin allergies. If you have a cold or flu, considering the health of other guests taking a hot spring bath, it is best to wait until you recover before taking a hot spring bath.
Q: Can I bathe in a hot spring during pregnancy?
A: We advise pregnant women to be cautious when bathing in hot springs and only use alkaline hot springs at low temperatures (33-38 degrees) while ensuring high water intake and adequate rest. We do not recommend pregnant women bathing in the acidic Priest Spa. Some pregnant women choose to soak their feet only.
Q: Can I bathe in such hot springs with a baby?
A: Babies can bathe in hot mineral hot springs, but we recommend using a lower temperature pool to ensure that the temperature is not too high and overheating, and to keep an eye on the baby~~
Q: Are towels and lockers included?
A: Admission to the Deluxe Lakeside Spa includes towels and lockers. For other programs, you can rent towels for NZ$10, which can be refunded to NZ$5 when you return them; or you can buy them from the Spa Essentials Shop. You can use the storage bucket for free, but you need to pay NZ$5 to rent the secure locker for valuables.
Q: What are our clothing requirements in the hot springs?
A: Swimming suits are required in the pools. Cotton shirts and pants as well as underwear are not allowed in the pools. Infants must wear swim diapers. Swimming suits are not mandatory in private pools.
Q: Can I use the private pools alone?
A: No, we have a rule that private pools that are not in public view must have at least two adults aged 15 and over in each pool.
Q: Can I let my child soak in the spa by himself?
A: Children under 8 years old must be supervised by an adult aged 16 and over, who must be with the child at all times and able to provide immediate assistance. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Q: Are there changing rooms?
A: All Polynesian Spas have changing rooms, which include showers and lockers.
Q: How often is the water changed?
A: All spa pools meet strict water quality standards. It is stipulated that we must change the water in the mineral pools every 4 hours. We meet this requirement and for some pools we change the water every 3 hours. During the day, a steady flow of clean, fresh water flows into the hot spring pool; at night, the pool is emptied, cleaned, and refilled with clean hot spring water.
