Itinerary overview
Conquer this wild and unrestrained river, experience its rugged beauty and magnificent scenery without destruction. On the Schott River, you will challenge six rapids, while also having peaceful waters for you to enjoy the scenery, swim in, and experience its gold mining history. The long and narrow fourth to fifth level river section is composed of rapids such as aftershocks, compressions, flush toilets, and marbles. You will cross the darkness of the 170 meter long Oxbridge Tunnel, challenge the waterfall rapids, and complete this challenge. The route to the Schott River can be taken by car or helicopter. This river is located at the remote drifting starting point of Skippers Canyon, which was once opened up by gold miners during the Queenstown gold rush.
