  On this full-day Mt Cook Tour from Queenstown (12 hours) you will experience the unique alpine landscapes of the Southern Alps as you travel with us from Queenstown through Mackenzie Country and into Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, home to snow-capped mountains, impressive glaciers, and New Zealand’s highest peak, Aoraki Mt Cook (‘Cloud Piercer’). Departing from Queenstown from 7am, your guide will pick you up in one of our premium vehicles. Travel in comfort and style in a Mercedes van with panoramic windows for superior viewing so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning scenery. Your Altitude Tours guide will host you throughout the day, providing insightful and entertaining commentary as you journey through this world-class landscape. Our first stop is Cromwell, ‘Fruit Bowl of the South’, and its large fruit sculptures before heading through the dramatic Lindis Pass. We will take a brief stop in the quaint village of Omarama, where you will get the chance to purchase refreshments, and lunch if required. From here we will make our way along Lake Pukaki’s bright turquoise waters before entering Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. You will have 3-3.5 hours of free time to enjoy Mount Cook Village and its surrounding attractions. There is a range of things to do once we arrive in Mount Cook Village. Some of the popular activities that we can connect with are: Walk to Lake Mueller for a close-up view of Mt Sefton’s glaciers Walk a portion of the Hooker Valley track for incredible views of Aoraki Experience a Heli Hike on the Tasman Glacier Experience a scenic ski plane or helicopter flight Explore Mount Cook Village – visit The Sir Edmund Hillary Centre and/or enjoy lunch at one of the local cafes/restaurants On the return to Queenstown, if time allows, we will visit the High Country Salmon Farm in Twizel, as well as a brief refreshment stop in Omarama.
