  • For reservations between November 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025, if the reservation is cancelled within 80 hours, it will not be refunded. For other travel periods, if the reservation is cancelled within 32 hours, there will be no refund.

Q: How long does it take to go to the Whitmore Firefly Cave?
A: The Whitmore Firefly Cave is located 2 hours south of Auckland, 1 hour south of Hamilton, and 2 hours west of Rotorua.
Q: Can I take photos or take photos in the Wormhole of Waitomo?
A: It is prohibited to take photos and take photos in firefly holes, as flashing in the dark can affect fireflies and tourists.
Q: Can I bring the baby in together?
A: Sure, children under 3 years old can enter for free, but the environment inside the cave is dark, quiet, and has a loud echo. Children are prone to crying and disturbing other tourists, so we do not recommend bringing babies inside.
Please note that the Waitomo Firefly Cave cannot accommodate wheelchair visitors. Tourists who need wheelchairs are advised to choose Ruakuri Cave (WG003)
Please note that this itinerary may be cancelled or partially cancelled due to excessive CO2 concentration/water level in the cave on that day, and a corresponding refund will be issued at that time.
