FAQ about the project

Check-in: All passengers must check in 15 minutes before the departure time. Please note that if you do not check in at this time, your allocated seat may be assigned to a standby passenger. There is no refund for late passengers. If you wish to reschedule, an additional fee may be charged.
Q: What should be noted when traveling?
A: If the wind and sea conditions are unfavorable, traveling to Hauraki Bay Ocean Park will not be smooth. For this reason, due to the bad weather, sometimes for the safety and comfort of the passengers, we have to cancel our trip. We suggest that all customers check the ocean weather forecast before making a reservation. If you are not sure, please contact our friendly booking team or visit our website.
Q: Transportation advice
A: We strongly recommend that you use public transportation (buses, ferries, trains) to visit the wildlife park in the center of Auckland. We are committed to continuous efforts to reduce our impact on the environment and hope to encourage passengers to do the same.
Parking space: No parking space is available for your vehicle. If you do choose to use your own private vehicle to enter the city centre of Auckland, you can check out the parking lots around the city.
Q: How long will the trip take approximately
A: A trip usually takes about 4.5 hours, but this may vary depending on the conditions. If the sea and wind conditions deteriorate, they may return earlier at the captain's call
Q: What do I need to carry
A: It's best to prepare and bring a coat, such as a light jacket or vest and a warm top. Wearing a sun hat (with a chin strap - you don't want it to blow off), sunscreen, sunglasses, a camera and binoculars are also very useful. Finally, please bring flat shoes. Anyone wearing high heels will be asked to take them off.
Q: What payment methods do you accept
A: Due to the volume of fraudulent credit card transactions, we now require all passengers who purchase air tickets online to present the credit card they are using and an appropriate photo ID when checking in. We reserve the right to refuse to accept anyone who does not abide by this policy. If you have booked a discounted price through a travel agency on wechat or Weibo, the booking might have been made with a stolen credit card.
Q: Can I bring my own food and drink? How to solve the problem in the catering industry?
A: There is a kitchen cafe on the ship, serving all kinds of food and drinks. Please note that we are a license, so no alcohol can be brought onto the ship. However, it can be purchased through the cafe (make sure to bring an approved photo label). You are also welcome to bring your own snacks.
Q: If no Marine life is seen, how can it be solved?
A: Unless permitted by the refund and modification policy, we won't offer refunds. However, if you haven't seen any Marine mammals, you can enter for free again until you successfully complete your trip. This coupon is valid and non-transferable no matter if you visit again. We see dolphins in over 90% of our trips and whales in over 50% of our trips, so the possibility of seeing Marine mammals is very high
Q: What should I do if I get seasick
A: If you are prone to seasickness, please check the weather and take medicine a few hours before check-in. Most pharmacies and supermarkets offer seawater therapy drugs. We don't carry any medicine on the ship, but we have bought sea cucumbers, as well as ginger slices and ginger beer. If you start to feel nauseous or seasick, please inform a crew member and follow their instructions, as they will try their best to help you feel better.
Q: What should be done if there are problems such as physical discomfort or pregnancy
A: If you have any pre-existing medical issues, if you are pregnant or have any medical conditions, please inform us in advance. All the crew members have received first aid and emergency training.
